It’s official — China just dropped a bomb on your online shopping plans. Hongkong Post is cutting off shipments of goods to the United States — and yes, that includes all those little packages you were waiting on from your favorite sites.
Why? In classic trade war drama, the U.S. is hitting China with massive new tariffs, including a wild 120% tax on small parcels starting May 2. Oh, and they’re scrapping the old rule that let anything under $800 sneak in duty-free. Yeah… it’s getting messy.
Hongkong Post clapped back HARD, calling the new policies straight-up “unreasonable” and “bullying.” Their response? “We’re not your tax collectors” — and they’re refusing to play along. That means no more mail with goods going out to the U.S. from Hong Kong. (Don’t panic — letters and documents are still a go… for now.)
This is the latest twist in the never-ending U.S.–China trade beef — and if you’re waiting on sneakers, gadgets, or K-beauty hauls from overseas, you might be waiting a while.
Better double-check that shipping tab next time you hit ‘buy now.’
