SCAREFACE LEAVES WILLIE D OFF “MIND PLAYING TRICKS” GETO BOYS GRAMMY PERFORMANCE

The Grammy Awards is one of the most important award shows in any music genre. This years Grammy Awards showcased the 50 years of hip hop which had performances from artist of the time period of Scarface of the Geto Boys to hip hop’s newest top tier artist Glorilla. Scareface of the Geto Boys hits the stage to perform his verse for “Mind Playing Tricks On Me”, the 1991 hit from the album We Can’t Be Stopped. Geto Boys was a hip hop group from Houston sign to Rap A Lot Records. The members of the Geto Boys include Scareface, Willie D, and the late Bushwick Bill. On the Geto Boys Reloaded podcast, hosted by Scareface and Willie D, Geto Boys member Willie D confronts Scareface for not even notifying him that “Mind Playing Tricks On Me” would be performed.

Willie D grills his co-host as Scareface acknowledges that he didn’t even think to call and let his fellow Geto Boys member know that the song would be performed. There is even instances where Scareface feels that he was justified in doing the partial rendition of the song at the Grammys by himself. What do you think?
