It’s a bad day to be R. Kelly on the internet.
After Billboard dropped their “Top 75 R&B Artists of All Time” list, social media exploded — but not for the reason you’d think. While Stevie Wonder claimed the #1 spot, R. Kelly somehow landed at #9, and fans had a lot to say about it.
“R. Kelly doesn’t deserve to be on this list anymore,” one user blasted on X (formerly Twitter), while others were shocked he even made the cut given his legal past. But numbers don’t lie — and they’re backing Stevie HARD.
On Spotify, Stevie Wonder is clocking 19.5 million monthly listeners, nearly 4x R. Kelly’s 5.1 million. Even younger fans are rediscovering Stevie’s catalog, pushing classics like Superstition and Isn’t She Lovely back into streaming charts.
Meanwhile, Kells is still drawing millions of plays — but most of it comes with a side of controversy.
The verdict? Stevie is trending for the music. R. Kelly… not so much.
