CITY OILERS CUT 33 POINT DEFICIT BUT FALL SHORT AGAINST AL AHLY

The City Oilers were looking to bounce back after loss to Petro De Luanda in Cairo, Egypt on Thursday. 4/29/23 the City Oilers faced Al Ahly in an intense game where the City Oilers found themselves down at one time by 33 points. Al Ahly led in the beginning of the 4th quarter 61 – 36 as the City Oilers started there intense comeback. The City Oilers managed to cut Al Ahly’s (at one point in the game) 33 point lead to 2 point’s but unfortunately lost the game 70 – 72. Germaine Roebuck of the City Oilers ended the game with 28 points and 11 rebounds, Falando Jones with 15 points, and James Justice with 11 points. It was reported that the Al Ahly players were relieved rather than celebrating as they knew and appreciated the Oilers’ valiant attempt. The City Oilers will play their game 3 of the Basketball Africa League on May 2, 2023 facing SLAC.
