The Memphis Grizzlies announced Sunday that the team had suspended guard Ja Morant after a social media video appeared to show him holding a handgun.
In a video that’s going viral on social media, Morant is seen riding in a car with a number of other people and is briefly seen clutching what looks to be a rifle. The 23-year-old has had issues with the league previously this season. After determining that Morant had engaged in “conduct detrimental to the league” when he livestreamed a video of himself “holding a firearm in an inebriated state” at a bar near Denver, the NBA suspended him in March for eight games without pay.
